Paper and pulp

India houses numerous large and medium-sized paper industries that cater to the global demand, making it a thriving sector. These industries require a significant amount of treated water for high-quality paper production, resulting in a considerable volume of wastewater. This wastewater contains expensive and hazardous chemicals like lignin, ligno sulfonate, caustic substances, and fibers.

To recover these valuable chemicals and recycle fresh water, membrane technology plays a crucial role.

It not only enables the extraction of valuable chemicals but also facilitates the reuse of water in the production process. Membrane technology, proven effective for various industries, aligns with pollution authorities’ demand to maximize water recycling from treated effluent.
In the paper industry, post-production wastewater contains a substantial amount of fibers that can be efficiently recycled using membrane technology. At Fluid Sep Technologies in Ahmedabad, we have conducted extensive trials to recover fibers from wastewater. Our process recovers 90% to 95% of fresh water, while the concentrated fibers can be recycled, serving as raw material for the hard board industry. This approach ensures compliance with pollution board limits. We offer pilot plant facilities for trials at the customer’s site or our factory.
Treatment involves membrane system pretreatment, ultrafiltration, Nano filtration, and post-treatment. Our trial results have received approval from the Pollution Board authority.

Fluid Sep Technologies can offer below applications for Membrane Technologies.

  1. Ligno – Sulphate Recovery
  2. Caustic Recovery
  3. De-Inking
  4. Lignin Recovery
  5. Paper machine Filtrate
  6. Black Liquor Treatment
  7. Bleach Effluent Treatment
