Membrane Technology

Welcome to Fluid Sep Technologies, a pioneering provider of advanced water treatment solutions. Our expertise lies in cutting-edge Membrane Technology, a crucial utility in modern separation processes. Membrane technology offers various advantages, such as chemical-free operation, low energy consumption, and streamlined process conductions. It encompasses a range of characteristic separation processes utilizing semi-permeable membranes. We specialize in membrane systems for creating process water from groundwater, surface water, and wastewater, effectively competing with conventional techniques. Allow us to introduce you to the different membrane filtration methods and their applications.

FLUID SEP TECHNOLOGIES is company which is dedicated to deliver best, feasible and cost optimized solution in segment of water treatment and waste water treatment.

Microfiltration (MF)

Microfiltration membranes with pore sizes of 0.1 – 10 µm effectively remove bacteria, and some viral contamination by trapping viruses that attach to bacterial biofilm. Microfiltration finds applications in various industries, including:
Examples of micro filtration applications are:

  • Cold sterilization of beverages and pharmaceuticals
  • Clearing of fruit juice, wines, and beer
  • Separation of bacteria from water (biological wastewater treatment)
  • Effluent treatment
  • Separation of oil/water emulsions
  • Pre-treatment of water for nano filtration or Reverse Osmosis
  • Solid-liquid separation for pharmacies or food industries

Ultrafiltration (UF)

For complete virus removal, ultrafiltration is required. Its membranes with pore sizes of 0.001 – 0.1 µm are used in industries like:

  • Dairy industry (milk, cheese)
  • Food industry (protein)
  • Metal industry (oil/water emulsion separation, paint treatment)
  • Textile industry

Nanofiltration (NF)

Nanofiltration has gained popularity, particularly in drinking water purification, water softening, decoloring, and micro-pollutant removal. Nanofiltration is applied in various industries for:

  • Removing pesticides from groundwater
  • Removing heavy metals from wastewater
  • Wastewater recycling in laundries
  • Water softening
  • Nitrates removal

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

RO is driven by the pursuit of balance, where fluids with different concentrations of dissolved solids mix until uniform. By separating these fluids with a semi-permeable membrane, fluids with lower concentration move into those with higher concentration, creating osmotic pressure. By applying pressure greater than osmotic pressure, fluids are pressed back through the membrane, leaving dissolved solids behind. RO is commonly used for:

  • Drinking water preparation and Desalination
  • Producing ultra-pure water
  • Boiler feed water
  • Concentration processes in the food, galvanic, and dairy industries
